Since we have been in operation (July 9, 2010),
we have had many positive comments about the ambiance and menu in our
Waterwheel Café.
(**Please read the letter sent to us by a long distance cyclist,
below - and the nice comments
in the Ithaca Journal.) Please visit our restaurant for dinner,
wine tasting, music and/or Sunday Brunch. We would love to meet you and serve
to you one of the wonderful meals prepared by our fantastic chef.
We have been residents of Freeville for 29 years (since August 1982)
and have enjoyed the unique residential nature of our village. After
moving to Freeville, Milan opened his own business, Gallery Croatia.
In 1993 he purchased the run-down building at 2-4 Main Street and
eventually opened Tile-Tec International.
On July 9, 2010, we opened our new restaurant, Waterwheel Café, in the
beautifully renovated part of the Tile-Tec building. Our goal is to
have an attractive, comfortable place for our patrons to sit and enjoy
well prepared Cajun and Southwestern dishes. The elegant decor of the
café is entirely in marble and granite. Each table has its own large
window, so every patron is able to enjoy Fall Creek and the wildlife
preserve across the creek. Waterwheel Cafe is also accessible by kayak
or canoe. Landing provided.
At Waterwheel Café we are providing convenience to local
residents by having a dining opportunity in our small community. We
are
maintaining the “old town look” of the original building by strengthening
and beautifying the 120 year old structure so that it will remain
standing for yet another 120 years.

Just wanted to send a note of thanks to you.
Two weeks ago five weary and hungry cyclists stopped by on a hot
day for lunch. Your gorgeous restaurant was so helpful &
welcoming to us as we dragged our sweating bodies inside your
cool & spotless oasis of an establishment. The food was
wonderful (I personally enjoyed the duck quesadillas). We really
hated to leave. You left quite an impression on us as we still
talk of discovering your gem in rural New York State.
Unfortunately, we are all back in the Chicago area, otherwise we
would be returning frequently. Good luck & keep up the excellent
service!
